Guest post - wait..this is MY blog too!

My flag football teams took 1st place in both the 8 on 8 & the 5 on 5 leagues.
You can blame Carly for the lack of pics of me in action.

For being champions, they gave us some gross Life water and the best tasting beef jerky ever. Our last championship game Carly threatened me with my life if I didn't win her some more beef jerky.

This year I started to miss my college football days. So, I went on line, found a local flag football league and posted my availability. I decided to go with a team called Quick 6, which I believed to be the most competitive. It was a perfect fit.

The 5 on 5 league was an afterthought. Some of the guys on my 8 on 8 team invited me to come play with them on their 5 on 5 team to help rush on defense. All the bruthas played at the U in their prime (which was a looong time ago, although they don't look aged).
The championship game for this league was the more fun of the two. On defense I had 4 interceptions and we absolutely dominated the team. It was a blast.
I look forward to playing with both teams again in the spring season.

Christmas Survey

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Both! At Seagull Book they have a huge gift wrap collection for normally $60....for $7.99. There is probably some leftover if you live by a Seagull Book. (its a boatload of stuff that will last me years) Here is just a few of them:

2. Real tree or Artificial?
Fake!!! Real ones are too much maintenance
.

3. When do you put up the tree?
This year we did it the week after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down?
We'll see I guess!

5. Do you like eggnog?
Its ok...I like a little sip or two

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Well I ALWAYS wanted a power wheels, but never got one. They told me I wouldn't want it when I grew up but I knew they were wrong...I still think they are fricken awesome
.

7. Hardest person to buy for?
My Brother in Law, Lee....It's because he buys himself stuff all the time, so he has what he wants. So from now on I think I will gift the whole family :)

8. Easiest person to buy for?
My mom probably...

9. Do you have a nativity scene?
No...I wish!

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?
People appreciate the personal touch ;)

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
One of my friend in elementary gave me a little sandwich baggy with three little marshmallows (snowman poop)

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
The Holiday

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
I always have a less stressful holiday when I start at least a month in advance, but lately, its been a couple weeks into December.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
I don't believe so...

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Christmas treats...Probably Theresa's Toffee bars!

16. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
Shrimp, Crab Legs...There is only going to be three of us this year; My Mom, Josh, and I! We can eat whatever we want!

17. Favorite Christmas song?
Carol of the Bells

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
I don't care as long as I'm with family.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen
I had to sing the song in my head...

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
We don't have anything...Josh is particular and doesn't like the way they are cheaply made these days. I agree though!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
In the morning for SURE with kids. It doesn't matter as much now, we both know what we got each other except what's in the stockings (which we'll do christmas morning)

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
People who say "Oh my gosh...so and so ONLY got me THIS. How CHEAP."
I don't have any friends like that but just hearing about it makes me cringe. I'll have to admit I was like that as a young teen. I didn't understand finances. I thought my parents were holding out on me.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?
I don't really believe in matching themes or colors. I think ANYTHING goes well together.

24. What do you want for Christmas this year?
A Flirty Apron...and at my work we had to go around and say what we wanted, so I said that, and my boss goes "um, do you cook in it?" So everyone was makin fun of me that it was somethin sexy... They didnt really believe me so they wanted to know if there was a website. It didnt help the homepage looks like this:

And I'm still hearing about it...

25. Who do I want to fill this out and post it on their blog?
Everyone.

And also, I have GOT to share my experience today with our present swap at work. If you are an OFFICE fan you will get this... We honestly played YANKEE SWAP.
It was almost like playing out the episode. I never noticed it but my boss is SO much like Michael Scott. She got two gifts stolen from her and when she opened each of those up she made a face that looked like she smelled poop or something (a $25 applebees giftcard, and a christmas decoration). On the last present she opened up it was deluxe Phase 10. She was like "What makes it so deluxe?! Game includes: Card Separator and board?" She made the brattiest face. I felt so bad for whoever brought that!!!
At the beginning of the game when I found out what we were playing, I immediately protested saying it would hurt somebodies feelings. That same boss said "Oh we play this every year nobody's feelings ever get hurt." Yeah because you're hurting the feelings! I have co-workers who read this, I don't care, I'm sure they agree with me.
But I got such an AWESOME present!!!

They are little games! AND pens!!! I LOVE IT!
I bet they'd make great stocking stuffers!...(I hear you get them at Costco)

Merry Christmas!

Since I am just now feeling better (its been two weeks), and can get a few things done in these last three days before christmas, I am counting this year as another "sick during christmas" year. Can I please go one year of December without being sick?? I associated many things at christmas with headaches/throwing up. Every time my dad played some new Jazz music CD he got...gingerbread, egg nog, pine cone smelly things...
Anyway, I'm not letting it get my Christmas spirit down. Christmas is about spending time with family and love. I don't want anyone to stress about getting anything for me, so why would my family want me to stress over getting something for them? I don't think they would. I have had minimal stress this year. Josh would disagree, but he hasn't seen me other years; day before christmas eve, standing in zumies almost in tears wondering what the heck my brother Ryan and brother-in-law Lee want. I think what they want for christmas is for me NOT to do that. so Jana, you can tell Lee thats what he got HAHAHA. just joshin ya. I got you guys a little sum' sum'. Psh like it'll get there beFORE Christmas.
We are on our way to get our wedding video...I know...its been almost 10 months and its just now done. I wonder how much he'll charge me: more because it took him so long...or less because he procrastinated so long? We shall see. I may have another post for when I get back, fuming mad :]
Another reason why I've waited to send the gifts to fam, I want to include the wedding video. You may not want it, but when you get/got married, I would expect a wedding video for sure. I watched my sister's wedding video many times in high school, that was about the only thing that made me cry at the time. I never ever ever thought I would find a guy who would treat me as well or love me as much as Lee loves Jana. I thought it was too rare.

Worst Date Tag

My worst date would have to be my Junior year of high school, winter dance, Boys choice. It was the week of the dance and I had no date yet. At the beginning of the week I noticed one of my good buddies, Colton Fenton, was standing around with a bunch of his friends, who were all looking at me. He had his back to me and they all pushed him toward me saying "ask her". Colton turned around shyly and said "Will you go to the Winter dance with me?" I said yes of course.
Day before the dance I get a call from Colton and he says "Carly, I'm sorry but my mom just grounded me for a week and I can't take you to the dance anymore."
"Oh, thats completely fine! Don't even worry about it." I sincerely replied.
No, thats not the end of the story.
"Well, I felt so bad I kind of already made arrangements for a replacement..."
"Um...what? with who?"
"A friend of mine from Orem"
I tried to tell him I'd rather not, but he insisted. Apparently this young lad was looking forward to our blind school date dance.
So our "group" consisted of two couples. My best friend Lauren, and her date Jondon was the other.
This mystery boy from Orem is friends with Jondon as well.
Lauren and I drove to their place and we were ready to go. Orem boy (whom I don't even remember the name of) was mexican and I don't believe spoke much english. Neither of them have a car so Lauren is the driver. We are starving and ask what our plans are for dinner. They both shrug and finally admit they don't have any money. Wendy's it is! And I bought the poor sucker dinner. We head over to the dance and we take our pictures.

(as boys start walking with us to the sleigh prop)
Me: "uuuuhh...I actually just want a picture with Lauren"
It was quite awkward but I didn't care in the LEAST.

On the dance floor we gals kept our distance. My friend Ali Vanleeuwen came up to me and was like "Hey! Who did you come with?"
I pointed across the room at the figure and she stared at him for a good five seconds before she said, "That's my little sister's boyfriend."

And that next week I found out Colton wasn't grounded at all, he went duck hunting with his uncle.
I really had to go through a lot of mr. wrong's to find mr. right.

I tag Jana, Chantalle, Katie, Lindsie, Melinda, Nikki, Amber, Ashleigh, Jeana...
I want to know everyone's worst date!!!!

Note to self...

When grocery shopping, and walking down the soup isle, don't ever say, "Oh, lets grab some chicken noodle soup in case one of us is sick sometime."
But if this means I'm sick now instead of on Jesus' Birthday, then I'm ok with it.

I made it onto cake wrecks!!!!

I submitted the "reindeer" I thought it was a dog.... (2nd from top)
Go here: http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2008/12/most-wonderful-time-of-year.html

She tagged me as Carly O. instead but thats ok!!!! I submitted like 4 other cakes so I hope I make it again!!!

Extreme Home Makeover

Is that what the show is called? Josh just left for volleyball practice and I turned on the tv and started flipping channels. I stopped here and the bus moved out of the way and this brand new home was unveiled to a large family (not knowing anything about them), and I started bawling on que.
Is this normal? Am I ok?

Oh, and did I mention....

We booked our anniversary trip to Hawaii...
Actually we want to visit Melinda, Jeremie, Ashleigh, and Suliasi, and the cheapest time to fly was right during our anniversary.
I know....its fate.

Thanksgiving Vacation

Josh and I drove to California and it was a ton of fun! It didn't go by too fast and we got to spend a lot of quality time with family.

My mother-in-law taught me and my sister-in-law Shannon how to make a few of the secret Brecheisen Christmas candies. They are amazing. And we pretty much ate them all on the 10 hour drive home yesterday. Even though its REAL candy and it actually tells your body that you are full of sugar and don't need anymore...we didnt stop.
On Thanksgiving day Shannon's husband Dug brought his music equipment and they made a rap that is Saweeet.
Click below to listen
!!! And try to ignore the "AVS MUSIC DEMO" lady. I have spent hours upon hours trying to get this song straight on my blog....and i finally figured out how to change from an MP4 to an MP3. so soooo-ry!!!!

I woke up at 5 AM on Black Friday...but found nothing!!!! So disappointing. oh well.
If you haven't been by the site CakeWrecks.com... You definitely need to. I laugh so hard every time I go there. I've been looking for Wrecks in every bakery I pass, and I finally found some way good ones in Elko, NV. I just submitted them so if she says some CCC's from a Carly B. you know its me!
Happy Holidays!

Twilight

All the shrieking and clapping during the movie when a new character came in was really starting to tick me off. I couldn't hear some of the stuff they were sayin! Don't read this next part in the purple if you don't want to hear my opinion.
I absolutely LOVED this movie. Its definitely my favorite movie. I have never seen a movie that brought out so much emotion in me. We are going again to see it tonight! I think they did it as close as they could to the book...some of the stuff was different but it was good still. It reminded me so much of the times when Josh and I were engaged. Thats when I started reading the books. I would laugh, cry and gasp while telling Josh the important parts. He really enjoyed the movie as well. I pictured Charley overweight, but loved this skinny character. Oh...and Robert Pattinson actually grew on me, big surprise. I cant wait for the next movies!! I hope they make a movie about the Host too...but...its seems in order for it to be good it would have to be EXACTLY by the book. I dont care if it's a 6 hour movie, I'd actually prefer that.

At the theater they had the "Cullen family" posing for pictures. I walked up, "Um, can I just get Edward and Jacob?" All the girls go "yupp.." like they'd heard that a million times. Well who wants a picture with random girls that dont even look like cullens?? At the time of my asking "Rosalie" was on Jacobs motorcycle with him. And Alice was pLaTinum bLond. That doesn't make sense does it? (there is a motorcycle behind us)

And also I'd just like to say I would like to be Stephanie Meyer's friend. Not because she is rich, but because I cant believe how incredible her books are and the way they make me feel. I think she and I would get along great. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way.

Many people say they are ashamed at how obsessed they are over Twilight but I am proud to say I am not ashamed. I love my husband as much as Bella loves Edward. They will be together forever and so will Josh and I.

The Barbie Post!

This was a really fun experience. We collected only four barbies to be recycle but gave 200 barbie bags away. Mattel teamed up with Waste Management for the first time to try out recycling Barbies. The new Barbies made would then be donated to children's hospitals.

Michelle (her blog is on my friend list ---->) is a pro photographer and she came to take pictures of me!! Thanks Michelle! http://michelle-wilsonphotography.blogspot.com/

A couple of my favorite parts: A little boy was in a cart with his sister and was sooo overly excited to see me (more so than his sis)! Every time he'd pass by he'd go "Hi Barbie!!! What's your name, Barbie?" And I just kept saying "My name is Barbie what is your name?" And everyone around would start laughing.
There was another girl probably around 9 that just walked straight up to me and was about 5 inches from my face just fascinated. I would ask her questions like "whats your name?" or "what are your plans for today?" or "I'm so glad you came to meet me!" to try to wrap things up, And she would just give me a one word answer and just keep staring into my eyes. It was sufficiently awkward. Josh jumped in and started quizzing her on what kind of Barbie I was and by then her Mom was calling her away. Phew!
There were a couple people I scared really bad because they thought I was a life-size doll from afar, but when they were walking past me and I moved they jumped and go "Oh I thought you were a doll!!!"

Josh was there, but he was walking around shopping the whole time....He decided he wanted to buy a PS2 and Guitar Hero "World Tour". So we went last night and got it. Early Christmas for us. So we have Michelle over for dinner and we are all rockin out! We are hardcore.

Random thoughts

Josh and I are ward missionaries. Josh is pretty stoked about it but I can't bring myself to agree!!! That is horrible to say, but I just am so far outside of my comfort zone. I know it'll make me a better person, and it's something I really need to get more comfortable doing. Thursday nights are the nights we go out, so I am super nervous all day about knocking on random people's doors and getting weird reactions. However, The Office is also every Thursday. All in all Thursdays are good days. Being a missionary isn't as hard as I thought, and usually it's fun, but I still get super nervous every time.
On Tuesday Josh starts coaching Volleyball for 16-year old girls. That is so exciting for him and it'll be tons of fun. Life is getting more and more hectic but no complaints here! Josh's work is starting to really pick up and he is doing really well selling his stuff. We are actually very blessed because he is able to sell to almost any industry. As long as they need paper and need to make copies! I love my husband so much and couldn't imagine life without him. He holds so many qualities I wish I had. He bears his testimony nearly every month with confidence. I wish I were a good public speaker like him. I wish I had the confidence to march up to a stranger and start talking about our great church and how they should look into it. ;)

80 things about me

Things you may not know about me...
1. I have never changed a poopy diaper in my life. I always use the excuse that it's not my kid, I don't haveta do it.
2. I hate going to the bathroom. I've got it down to 2 times a day.
3. I love to cook, its my playtime for the day.
4. My mom never regulated when we ate, she would just buy pretty healthy basic foods and we ate when we were hungry. Its weird to see how different families regulate what their kids eat.
5. I love animals, but hate pets. Vet bills, smell, feed, clean up after them, potty train...like a kid!
6. I love to work, and always have. I also wouldn't mind being a stay-at-home mom someday.
7. I think its funny when working moms chastise stay at home moms for not contributing to their family, or vice versa...Different things work for different families. You gotta do what cha gotta do.
8. I absolutely hate when people talk about politics, in person or on TV. I think most people's sources of information are hardly reliable.
9. Josh and I got into an argument about politics just now because he read #8. He thinks it should be important to me but it's not really. I dont feel there is anything I can do to change this country...I just hate how when someone breathes the word "politics" everyone gets their emotions raging. How am I supposed to form my own opinions that way? I just tune everyone out. (BTW I did vote today...)
10. My husband opens my car door for me every time.
11. After watching "I survived a Japanese Game Show" I want to visit Japan so bad!
12. I used to steal an article of clothing from my sister's closet every day before she moved out.
13. It is very hard for me to keep my house clean. I try to have someone over for dinner once a week for incentive to keep it clean...but if someone cancels, its over! haha
14. I want to name my children something they will never meet someone else with the same one. I hate meeting other Carly's. I especially hate that iCarly is a TV show now.
15. I don't understand why little girls like Hannah Montana. I think she is a weirdo.
16. My celebrity crush growing up was the kid from Terminator 2, Eddie Furlong.
17. I used to like celebrity crushes my sister had, just because I wanted to be like her. I never thought Orlando Bloom or Leo Dicaprio was really that cute...
18. I have been sick every Christmas of my entire life. Ask my sister.
19. Two christmas seasons ago, my friend and I pulled up to UVSC to go to the New Years dance. Before I got out of the car I had to fart. It wasn't a fart.
20. My friend got a ticket while driving me home to shower/change. I tried to tell the cop why but he didnt believe me. He hit on her instead.
21. I dont like cake, pie, cobbler, pudding, brownies...Its too sugary for me
22. If I could go back to high school, I would have done it all like my senior year; don't hope im popular just do whats important and be happy.
23. In high school my friends and I used to sneak into the Lehi Pool in the middle of the night and swim or walk down the slide. Never got caught.
24. I wish that everyone wasn't dependent on their cell phones, ipods, TV, Computers. I wish they were available only for informational purpouses, emergencies, or limited amounts of time.
25. I went to lake powell when I was 12. My mom did my hair in little braids. My head got sunburned and peeled + the sand, I have never felt like i've picked it all out. to this day.
26. Also when I was 12 I would beg my mom and cry to make a girls tackle football team. I was a little tom boy.
27. When I worked at Cabelas I met Karl Malone & Greg Ostertag. I tried to get them to sign up for a credit card. Not the friendliest.

51. I quote movies constantly. I really wish I could be funny on my own though.
52. It was very hard to find a halloween costume for Josh and I. He is picky about it. He has to be a really cool masculine character.

May The Force Be With You

Now we don't have any cute kids in costume yet like the rest of you...
But we threw these little numbers together last minute.

And because we don't have kids yet, I know my blog isn't as cool as any of my pals on here. Everyone has their kids in the cutest costumes and they say the darndest things. I look forward to the days I can post awesome things like that to remember. For now I post about my man so you will know just about everything but his social security number ;)
Oh, and contrary to what the picture above looks like, I am not pregnant.

On Halloween night we went to "The Howl" which is a big dance party up at Utah State University. It was a ton of fun people watching. But about four or five times a Star Wars Nerd would stop us and say "Hey, Princess Leia never had a light saber!" Like they were hurt because I was being disrespectful or something. My most common response was "Well I have one!" and then I'd draw my saber and point it in their direction.

High School Reunion

This weekend Josh and I went to his 10-year high school reunion in California. We didn't take any pictures, but I'll have to get some from Josh's friends. It was really fun! Many people didnt recognize him...

but once they heard his name they'd go "Wow! Josh Brecheisen! You look good!!!" It was an interesting atmosphere where no one was afraid to talk to anyone (could have been the booze everyone else was drinking) but Josh has an outgoing personality and was talking to anyone that crossed his path. All troubles and problems people had with each other were long forgiven and forgotten.

It was also good to see our family. My little brother got to spend a lot of time with Josh, and looks up to him so much. He used to be mad at josh we got married because I was "His Tarly". Now all I do is get in the way of their fun.

This is an old picture...he is a lot bigger and I now have bangs)

I have some waaaay cute nieces. Here is Elli. The movie is kinda long but she had to get through all of her animal impressions.

Minus our flight getting delayed twice, boarding then unboarding due to the plane malfunctions, and reboarding another plane and making it home at 1 am and waking up at 5...the trip was perfect.

The best news of the WEEK or possibly MONTH....I bought my Twilight movie tickets! If you buy them at Jordan Commons via www.megaplextheatres.com you can pick your seats. Which means no camping out! Not that I was willing to do that or anything...
Last week tickets were on sale in California...everything comes out first in Cali...Not that I looked or anything.
