Can I Just Say...

I absolutely cannot stand when people use the acronym "FML". It's shows how ungrateful people are for what they have.
[if you don't know what it stands for, its *beep* My Life]
That's all.

Interesting Fact

Was browsing Babycenter.com to find out: A) How long after you eat chocolate that it is in your breastmilk making your baby's tummy hurt, and B) Is it possible to be feeding your baby too much breastmilk, causing too much weight gain too fast?
Not that I dont LOVE a chunky baby...

this is my nephew baby Moseley. almost 8 months in this picture. And I Looooooove to squish him.
Im not worried Kai is getting too big too fast (nor am i worried that Moseley is too big), i was just wondering if its even possible for babies to overeat breastmilk. mff-mascotwin2
Anyway I didn't find the answer to either question but i did find out this:

Oxytocin isn't the only love chemical. Dopamine, the main currency of pleasure in the brain, plays an important role in early bonding, too — for you and for your baby. As you hold, rock, or nurse your child, you both get a rush of this "reward" chemical.
Incidentally, dopamine is what gives drug users a feeling of well-being when they're high on heroin or cocaine. In a very real sense, addicts who get hooked on drugs are simply chasing the feeling that ideally flows between parent and child. Parental love just happens to be infinitely healthier.

and in closing, I would just like to state how lucky i am that i didnt get mastitis three times like 2 of my friends have. getting it once was enough for me. I need to count my blessings more and be grateful for what i have. i have it so easy...

P.L.O.M

that stands for "poor little old me"
when i was little and us kids would feel sorry for ourselves, mom would say "are you going to tattoo P.L.O.M. on your forehead?"
well, i think i just might!!!!!! kidding!!!!!
By the way, while I am on the subject of moms, you dont ever fully appreciate your mother until you are a mother yourself. And I can't even imagine having other little ones besides Kaius.

Well, I am feeling like a rotten housewife.
We just moved to a very unfamiliar city. Our house is a sty. Boxes everywhere. I am the worlds worst organizer, but once it gets organized I am usually pretty good at keeping it that way-somewhat. Its hard for me to accept that the house will have to get worse before it gets better. Clothes arent hung in the closet. Dishes are not washed (since being in a box). Therefore, dinner is not made at night. To top it off, the other night we were looking for a new car since the Lexus died, and I remember holding the camera in the car. Haven't seen the camera since and I have been looking everywhere. So I'm a non-cleaning, non-cooking, non-organizing, camera-losing kind of housewife. I usually can say, im pretty awesome, but, im not pretty awesome lately.
Kaius is almost to where he can sit in his Boppy. We are going to buy a new camera before then. I gotta capture his new first experience with it.

Well, on the very bright side, I have this face to look at all day.
His favorite time to smile is at changing time, and laying there after being changed. He likes to giggle a little bit too.

bahahahaha...

Happy Birthday Josh!! Big Three-Oh!

My husband turned 30! He always had the goal of becoming a father before 30, and he did it!
To celebrate my mom babysat Kaius and we got a couple's massage & went to TGI-Fridays. We got this for dessert:

Peanut Butter Mousse Pie...
I couldnt rest until I could have more. Not that I had the option to rest ;)

I didnt find the recipe, but I made one myself. Josh says it was better than TGI-Fridays. I dont know that it was THAT good...but it was good.

He looks so happy in this picture. I think its because I hadn't cooked anything in forever.
I love the spit up marks Kaius left on his shirt moments earlier. Sportin' em like a good daddy should :)

Here is a picture of us sooo happy about the new teeth we got!

So Blessed

Had some ups and downs this week but we are ending it with all ups. The health insurance problem is solved, because Josh's old boss gave him an offer too good to refuse. He's going to beat his current salary, pay for all his gas, normal health insurance, a car to use, and pay for us to relocate 2 hours north. So we're moving in a few weeks!
My clogged milk duct... turns out I've paid ahead to my O.B. so any postpartum visits are paid for. So I was still able to go get an antibiotic, and I'm feeling quite swell. Also, my friend Katie is letting me borrow her Medela, and it is FREAKING AWESOME. I have a manual that doesnt work for me at all but I love that Medela. Thank you Katie! You are such an awesome friend and I'll miss living only 4 miles away!
Next blessing (Is this #7? I dunno, I've lost count) A new volleyball club approached Josh and asked if he wanted to coach the 17 year old girls. He coached a team earlier this year and it was a friggin' blast. The girls are awesome and we get to go to fun tournaments in Vegas, Denver, and Southern California (shoutout to all our friends and family in those areas!), hopefully I can be a chaperone again this year. Plus, it's a little extra income so that's nice!

Since I am able to pump now, I was able to leave Kaius with my mom tonight and Josh and I went to the temple. It was my first time away from him, and boy did I miss him!!

Kaius now sleeps 5 or 5 1/2 hours at night, then feeds, then sleeps 2-3 more ours. Sleep is heavenly!

Oh, and I finally started reading Nie Nie after seeing her on Oprah...I keep having this urge to call Josh "Mr. Brecheisen" on my blog.

One Month Old

This morning, Kaius and I happened to be awake when Josh was getting ready for work (because Kaius woke up like right after I finished my last post). There was a couple minutes that we just held him and stared. Its not too often he gets BOTH of our undivided attention at the same time. Well, today was the first day he was completely awake, and smiled and laughed! I was like "Whoa, thats a first!"
I'm so glad Josh and I got to share that moment, and that I wasn't just telling Josh about it.
