The Stupidity! I can't believe it.

I really cant believe the education level of the customer service people I've been in contact with the last few days.
I've had a lot of chances with shopping around on baby gear websites to get the least expensive price. I did it when my sweet mother in law Theresa wanted me to pick a travel system (and I found one for $50 cheaper than Babies R Us had it) and I did it the last couple days when my mom wanted me to pick a crib bedding set. I found honestly probably over 30 websites that carried the same crib set, and I emailed every single website this message:

"Hello,

I am interested in buying this crib bedding set on your website:
www.(your website name).com/ my fav bedding

but it is for this price "$" at this website:
www.(better deal website).com/ my fav bedding

Are you willing to BEAT their price?
(or sometimes it was the same price at both sites...but still ask them to beat the price)

Thanks, Carly"

These are some of the responses I received in my inbox:

"yes"
(ok.....by how much?) ((and the response i got to THAT email was "ready our website." What the freak?? communicate people!!! They must not be fluent in english))

"Ours is the same price!"
(um, duh. thats why I asked if you would BEAT it)

"We will definitely match the item you have requested! As long as it is in stock at their website, the exact same product, and they are not going bankrupt."
(Once again...didn't ask you to match...I asked if you'd BEAT.)

"I dont understand what you mean by us beating that price. We will gladly match it for you."

Oh I will stop there. I dont know why 35 out of the 40 websites I emailed had no idea what I meant by them BEATING the price. Price matching does no good for me. Babysupermall.com and nurserydepot.com are the only websites that got serious with me. They fought back and forth and the offers went from 5% to $10 off...until one of them had to say uncle.
The final price was $20 lower than BabiesRUs...but still worth the work!
If I hear a friend trying to buy something online I'll look around for them online and find the cheapest one for them. It's kind of fun for me. Ebay is usually the most expensive. If you ever want me to look for anything I will probably do it! (I say that because I have lots of extra time, which may not be the case in about......mmm.... 8 weeks)

Oopsies...

Ok the pictures on the last post should be fixed. Not that it was worth the effort on my part, but I just HAD to post about something other than being pregnant. You all understand.
I look like a major retard in those pictures, but we started out with something really small (say...a woman product to hide when i went to the bathroom, cuz it was a dorm that you had to share a bathroom with like 18 other chicks)
and the girls snapped a pic and were rolling on the floor laughing..so then i moved to the flat iron...and then a small purse...and then something crazy like a garbage can. Which I must have thought was quite clean and new looking. I did shower soon after this though, if you were worried.

(oh, and with the can i was trying to make it look like a magician act...like it moved up my whole skirt and out the top. I was in high school. Thats my only excuse.)

Flashback Friday

With all these teenagers going to EFY and all...made me think back to those years I got to go. I went five times. Couldn't imagine my summers without EFY. 4 of the 5 times I went with my cousin Jessica. Some crazy pictures were recovered and I'm gunna totally post them no matter how embarrassing...

Yeah...I started out with something small...then it got bigger and bigger...
I guess I was pretty crazy hyper. This is right before I was a senior in high school...which was not that long ago.

Ma Big Boy

Little "Breck", as my mom likes to nickname the baby, is measuring in the 72nd percentile. There is also some extra fluid in there, so combination of a bigger baby and more fluid (both at normal levels) was the most relieving verdict. The ultrasound tech was like "Well, he aint the biggest kid in class, but he is certainly bigger than average".
Last night Josh and I went to D.I. to find some books on tape to keep him entertained on the 3 hours a day he is driving to & from work. A hispanic man who spoke little english kept asking me questions "boy or girl" and his wife had to translate for him. He finally took practice with the little english he knew and said "He....big?"
I feel no obligation to be polite to people after they get into that, so i just straight ignore him. Fortunately my husband is sane and laughed with him going "yep...he's a big boy! but she can handle it.."
**Update: I am not complaining that my baby is big. I am so happy that he is perfect and healthy. Just complaining/making fun of annoying strangers who make rude comments about it.
I must come off in my writing style that I am ungrateful...

The Move

We made our move yesterday back down south to live in my Grandma & Grandpa's guest house. Josh and I both agree it was the easiest move we've had yet (as a married couple...when you're single you just throw your stuff on your sheet, fold it all up and tie it on the end of a stick and head to the next apartment :)
The only reason we say its easy was because I quit my job and was able to pack everything up ahead of time, and we had tons of help with friends, family, and ward members.
However, as a result of standing all day, I have the hugest cankles ever. Normally I think I'd take a picture of something like this and post it but they are just too darn ugly.
Waking up at 5:30 am to the rooster cocka-doodle-dooing is definitely something i can get used to. ;)
I have an ultrasound tomorrow!! The baby is measuring big so they wanna check things out. Can't wait to see my boy.

Homemade Brecheisen Bread

Yup...
bloggin 'bout food again. What else does a pregnant girl got to blog about? How I go through my baby clothes daily and picture my baby wearing them? More comments about people not believing im only 7 months along?
nah. just food.
I feel so accomplished because I made this recipe up all by myself. It's not dense like other breads I've made. And it makes my house smell just wonderful. Didnt really have that with the others.
The measurements are weird but I'm just typin down what I threw in. If ya dont like it, don't make it. This makes one loaf.
1 1/8 C. Hot water
1/6 C. Oil (so, I'd take a 1/3 measuring cup...and fill it halfway)
1/12 C. Honey (take a 1/3 measuring cup...and fill it a fourth of the way)
2 tsp. Salt
2 TBSP Sugar
1 TBSP dry active yeast
Mix with a wooden spoon (kinda whip it up fast) so the honey gets broken up. Let sit for about 2-3 minutes, then add:
1/12 C. Liquid Lecithin
2 TBSP brown sugar
1/6 C. vital wheat gluten
1/2 tsp. Vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar, but you can use whatever)
2 C. BREAD flour, not all purpose flour
1/2 C. Wheat flour

Then I just mix it all up with my trusty pampered chef wooden spoon (which was a lovely wedding gift from Melinda and Jeremie!) until it all seems to be mixed together. Then I start hand kneading, adding flour to my hands over and over until it doesn't stick to my hands anymore. Form the dough into a little loaf, and place in bread pan. I let it rise for about 30-45 minutes. You can throw a dry towel over it if you want, but i just leave it uncovered so i can watch it grow. Once the size has doubled I put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. It gets even bigger in the oven!!
I'm sure a few of those measurements could be translated into tablespoons, but I really don't feel like figuring that out. If you feel like it, let me know ;)
