a Funny Story

Today was not the best day ever, but this sure made me laugh pretty hard. I was waiting to pick Josh up at work, and my dad was with me cuz next stop was taking him to the airport. For the second time :)
Anyway...We are waiting out front, and we see a blind man with a dog. The dog starts walking him to the street, and runs the blind guy right into the parking meter!! Thats not the funny part, I actually feel like crying about it right now it was so sad. He showed the dog the meter, and said "no no, lets try again" so he takes the dog back to the middle of the sidewalk, and the dog walks him back toward the street, avoiding the meter. His owner clapped and praised him loudly. Go dog!
The man proceeds to walk toward the street with his arms outstretched. His fingertips find the passenger window of my white car, and his hands follow to the back of the car.
Then, he opened up my back door and puts his briefcase inside, preparing to come aboard!
-"uuuh hi !" I say
no response
-"hellooo---"
no response...he keeps preparing to board.
-"this is not a taxi..."
nothin
-"Excuse me!!!"
"huh?!" he says, and goes to the back of the car, feels it, and says "Oh sorry! wrong car!"
He pulls out his briefcase and shuts the door.
Then a champagne colored hatchback Subaru pulls up and the dog leads him over to it. He gets in the car and kisses his significant other hello.
Me and my dad are like peeing our pants laughing.
Thinking back on this, I feel really really bad. I feel like crying. How would life be if I had to rely on a dog to maneuver me around? It would take a while for me to let situations like that roll off my back. I would feel very embarassed. Josh doesnt think he was embarassed at all, he bets that stuff like that happens to him every day...and he is used to it! its apart of life!
I suppose he is right. I sure do have a smart husband.

I have problems with my eyes. I have a condition called "keratoconus". I have been told that there are two types, one where the cornea is thinning and one where it is thickening. My cornea's are thinning. Only 10% of people with this disorder end up needing surgery (corneal transplant) but out of the people who do have the surgery, it is 90% successful. But a risk could be ending up blind.
The only thing I see differently is that, at night, lights look somewhat like this:http://www.fototime.com/DCD13AF520BC43E2A1D75EBFEED55B52/standard.jpg

And when driving behind cars on the freeway at night, there is just a little stream of red light coming off of each car's tail lights.
Well that turned into a long post! Just pray for me that I don't go blind, will ya??

**Update: No, I don't have to have the surgery as of right now. But the condition will never heal itself, so I may have to in the future.

Homemade Oreo Cookies

I've looked at a lot of recipes online, and I got the general idea, but wanted to make them my own way. I love cooking but baking is different. I don't generally like sweet stuff but my husband loves it, so I am trying to make more stuff (even though most of the time Josh cant eat it all, and we end up giving them away to friends)

Cookies:
1 pkg. of chocolate cake (or devil's food cake)
1/8 C. oil
2 eggs
1 tbs butter (room tempurature)

Frosting:
1/2 pkg. cream cheese (room temp)
2 tbs. butter (room temp)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 C. powdered sugar

Mix cookie ingredients up, roll them into balls (as big or as little as you want), place them on a cookie sheet, and FLATTEN the balls out...or else you'll get big thick bulky cookies. Bake at 350 for 7 minutes, and then leave them on the hot cookie sheet for a few more minutes outside the oven.
Then inbetween two cookies put as much or as little frosting as you want! I had leftover frosting. I'm not a sugar person though.

I tried making little ones...

and big ones!

Yums!

Belly Update

Baby kicks are no longer like little flutters...pff....weak sauce days.
These kicks and jabs are ROUGH! Especially when I am hungry. Its like the baby is hungry too and is mad so he kicks, and for some reason it hurts more when i have an empty tummy. haha it makes me jump sometimes if im caught off guard!
Today Josh was talking to my tummy, and then it was like a pinball was bouncing around in my tummy, it looked really cool! Glad I got to share that with Josh. I havent really seen my belly do the wave thing everyone tells me about when he turns over. He's just my squirmy little pinball machine!

Comments People Make in Public

I decided I want to remember all the funny (or sometimes not so funny) things random people say. So I'll keep coming back to this post and add to it.

-"Somebody swallowed a watermelon seed!" (trucker a the Little America convenience store in WY)

-"You 'bout ready ta pop, aren'tcha?" (a referee at one of Josh's football games...only about 4 months pregnant)

-"When are you due, July?" (Lady from church with french accent that calls me Maura, but she's been calling me it so long without me knowing what she's saying, its way too late to correct her. I thought she was calling me amore, or some other term of endearment.)

-"Man, ya'll are EXPECTIN' ! You strugglin'?" (one of Josh's football teammates)

-"Wow I sure hope you dont have twins in there!!" (Jamie, a friend on Facebook)

-"Looks like you stole a basketball!" (Kerri, a friend on Facebook)

-"Can I get a dressing room started for you? Ok, I'll get you the handicapped room" *lowers voice to a whisper* "It's the biggest one." (girl at Buckle)

- "I wish I had a mom like you." ( little 5 year old girl who sat in the chair next to me while we were getting pedicures..she just melted my heart)

- "You still havent had that baby? Are you sure you aren't having TRIPLETS?"
(best friend's dad, 2 days before Kaius was born)

Time for a hair change

I showed my amazing hair stylist, Andrea the pic of Bella & Edward as shown from this post.
I think she did a good job, i love it! She says it will probably fade because my hair was so light before. Which is fine with me because it seems so dark to me!
The only other time I have gone dark, a friend of mine from high school was going to hair school..and i asked her to put a FEW dark streaks in...and she "wanted me to be" a brunette. Haha Kenzie if you ever read this, yes im still bitter!!! Love you anyway.
Here is what it looked like:

*sigh* man was I tan. Fortunately my husband loves my porcelain color.

Best Pizza Ever

This is the best recipe for homemade pizza I've ever had.

I got it from my friend Andrea, so I thought I'd share.

To make 4 pizza's you need:

*10 and 1/2 cups white BREAD FLOUR (do not use all purpose flour)
*1/2 cup sugar
*1 tablespoon salt
*3 rounded tablespoons saf-instant yeast
*3 tablespoons liquid lecithin (you can only find the liquid form at health food stores)
*4 cups hot tap water

*1 can of tomato puree -I mix it with pizza spice 2 Tbsp.

Mix dry ingredients. Add lecithin & water. Mix for 1 minute & check consistency. If dough is too dry, add more water.Dough should be very sticky. Mix for 5 minutes (do not add flour to the dough after it has finished mixing).Spray counter & pans with Pam. Shape/roll each dough for pizza. Add tomato sauce ( mix with pizza spice). Add your favorite toppings and cheese.

Cook for 20 minutes - 400 degrees

mmm...pepperoni & bacon...

My 2 Favorite Nephews

Ok, whenever I am with these little guys I just hog them as much as i can. I was the Moseley Hogger at his blessing, and was an Oliver Hog in Hawaii. I dont know why I have no pictures with either of them..I guess I just get caught up in the moment. These two little boys are the two most happy and chill babies I have ever met. You may not believe me, but these are two separate babies. I went through both my sis Jana and my sis in law Melindas' blogs to find ones with most similarities.

Moseley

Oliver

I just wanna pinch their little cheeks.
Here are the Christmas Cards I got from each sister...again, watch for similarities:

Moseley's in her belly :)

Last names edited for safety purposes :)
Love you guys! Yay for little dudes for muh boy to play with!
