Kaius

A few funny stories.
I went to visit my sister a few weeks ago and went to her ward. An older woman sat next to me in Sunday school and started giving Kaius some attention. "Oh your so cute and chubby", she says. And then asks me how old he is, I say 9 months, and she says wow he's a big boy for only a 9 month old! So cute.
about 10-20 seconds pass and she asks me, "He is so cute. How old is he?"
I nod my head and say "9 months" in a manner like, you just asked me that...duh.
But her reply was "oh my goodness, (turns to talk to Kaius) you are so big for a 9 month old! your so cute."
Dimentia? Alzheimers? I dunno but I had a good laugh--inside my head of course.

We went to the store, and every time we check out josh shows them our baby and says
"Where's the barcode for this baby, cuz we'd like to buy him too" and a random fellow consumer just came over and was baby talking to Kaius and started nibbling on his feet! like nom nom nom nom nom. Josh grabbed the cart and slowly pulled it away from her and we awkwardly laughed like heh...heh...get your mouth off my baby... but she followed the cart as it moved and kept on munchin. Then she told us her life story.

Kaius finally cut his first tooth, it seemed it popped up overnight.
About an hour ago Kaius was crawling on the hardwood and he faceplanted it. He started crying and when he cries I know something is wrong. I have such a good baby.
Anyway, Grandma Theresa picked him up and said uh oh...his gums are bleeding.
I picked him up and....couldnt see his tooth. I felt around and now its barely poking through. It got jammed clear down. I am so worried and I don't know how I could handle any worse. I know I'll have to. I just feel like a bad mom.

(Comment from Sarah)

"A lady brought cookies to an enrichment activity once and after everyone had eaten them she announced she had made them with breastmilk. Dry freaking heave."

Yeah...I'm going to have to agree with you all and say if I consumed a cookie made with someone elses breast milk, I'd flip a table over. My own however, I know where its been. But I wouldn't ever give it to anyone else!!

(comment from my sister Jana)

"I don't know what kind of diet that mother has, or what kind of prescription drugs she takes/ has taken... I mean if she just downed a king sized bag of cheetos, then went and got herself all sweaty outside and then pumped some milk into my cookies, I'm going to be a little more than grossed out."

Agreed. Ew!

What does Kaius mean?

When I was about three months pregnant, my boss asked me what we were thinking for names. I said we were thinking Jack, Collin or Kaius. She made a face at the last name and said "whats does that mean??"
I told her I didn't know, because I don't care what a name means, I just care if I like it. I really dont value this person's opinion. This is the same person that decided we were going to play Yankee Swap at Christmas. You know, the game Michael Scott plays on The Office and made Phyllis feel bad for only bringing a homemade oven mitt. http://pics.livejournal.com/neptune_online/pic/00038s5f

I protested that it would hurt people's feelings, but she said there was no way that would happen. She is the female version of Michael Scott. And I really hope she reads this so she can change her bratty ways! She was horrible! The rules were, you could choose an unwrapped gift from the middle or steal someone elses gift. Well she opened one from the middle and it was an Applebees giftcard. She made a face of disgust and said "Ew. I don't even like Applebees." And then someone else stole it, obviously to make the Applebees giftcard giver feel better. So she picked another gift from the middle. It was Yahtzee Deluxe edition. She again made a face and said "What makes it so deluxe??" And she read the description and just rolled her eyes. What a freakin B.

It was good to get that off my chest.
Tangent over. The meaning of Kaius is "Joyous" or "Happiness"
I think we got that about right.
