Best Beh Beh Shower EVER

My friend Katie did my baby shower a few weeks ago, and boy oh boy did she go above and beyond!!! My mom did a ton too (lots of yummay foood!)
It was frog themed !!!

Katie made the cupcakes with the froggies on them :)

We played a fun game of memory, baby shower edition.
Oh and everyone had to write down their guess at the delivery date, time, and baby's weight and length. The winner gets a scentsy plug in so i hope i win. I guessed 09/09/09 (3 days before my due date) and i guessed he'll be 10 lbs. at least.
everyone told me i was crazy but he IS measuring big, my sister's first baby was around 10 lbs...yes her husband's side of the family are big but so is my husband's side!!! im not boasting whatsoever, just backin up why I made such a large guess.

Then we played a boy name game, where everyone wrote down a name that started with each letter of the alphabet, and the person with the most unique names got a scentsy plug in from Katie. My momma won!!!! I was so excited for her. I love my scentsy plug in, so I knew she would too.

Here is the cute table with Diaper cakes, pictures, froggies, and baby shoes!!

The diaper cake on the left my Mother in law, Theresa sent. The one on the right Katie made!
The little party favors were bags of green gummy frogs and blue gummy sharks, and chocolate covered raisins. On it there was a little saying "Frogs and snails and puppydog tails....that's what little boys are made of". How cuuute.
Also, Katie got me this awesome carseat cover/blanket thingy. It has slits in the right places so that you just set the baby on top of it and wrap him up after you buckle him in! And It's BYU pattern...Josh especially loves that part! Its reversible so he has to make SURE the BYU part is on the inside so when you wrap the baby its on the outside...hahaha.

She also got me these hooded towels...

And last but most certainly not least, my mom got me the baby's crib bedding!!!!!!!!!!!

You gotta click on the above picture to see it large. I love all the animals!

Josh and I assembled the crib last night. We both put the bedding set in and we were both...giddy! Its kinda weird to have a crib in our house! We are so close. It hasnt hit either of us yet.
I got many other gifts not only at the shower but it seems like almost every day there is a package from someone or I see someone and they have a gift for the baby! There are too many to name them all but I gotta give a shout-out to Jana and Melinda, my sis and sis in law, for giving me (or letting me borrow ;) their little boys' clothes and other items (oh, and all the maternity clothes-too!!). My mother in law, Theresa (and father in law, Doug :) whom I can't thank enough for all they've sent to us. We now have an awesome travel system, rocking chair, and many more very very useful items thanks to them. My mom is also constantly on the look out for awesome stuff..johnny jump up, cowboy boots...list goes on. It's so awesome to live 30 seconds from my mom. it will be more awesome with a baby.
If you have given something as well, you should receive a thank you soon, but THANK YOU. from the depths of Mine and Josh's hearts :)

Now I have a picture of the crib all set up (the crib was given to me by Melinda, which was originally given by Theresa, THANK you BOTH!!) but I am not going to post it today. In a few days I will post about the changes that the crib has gone through, and the hours i put into it. I've already said too much.

Dear Readers

I can't sleep. My right side of my jaw is so sore it hurts no matter what side I'm sleeping on. I just wanna take a few ibuprofens like normal and hit the hay for cryin out loud!!!
Reason for my post tonight is I just want to get my feelings out on paper - or screen.
I complain all the time about these weird aches and pains. I do it through my blog, facebook, and out my mouth. Although the state of being pregnant is not my favorite, having my baby inside me and feeling him move makes me so happy. I love my baby so much and if I had to go through this nine months a hundred more times before i got him (ya know - if average life span was longer)
I would do it. I know this is such a small sacrifice to receive such a wonderful blessing in my life. I know it wont be all smiles and roses and hunky dory every second, I know I will love it. Now I get to play that fun waiting game this last month that all moms know so well...
5 weeks!
I'm gearin up.

Power Outage

Well I sure felt like a pioneer for about five hours today. It starts stormin around 5:30 and the power goes off. Fine with me..lame episode of Deal or No Deal anyway...I'll just keep playing on babiesRUS.com. Nnnnnnnope, since the power is out on the modem, no internet access. Josh gets off around 5:30 and usually I get a call from him when he is on his way home. I tried calling him and no answer. Being the worryer I am I start thinking crap...he is driving in a storm and got in an accident...
He finally calls me back and I let him know the power's been out and there is no way to make dinner, so he better grab us a five dollar footlong. He says its waaay windy on the road.
I went outside after the storm kind of let up because it was a Sauna in my house (no AC...how have I never mentioned this on my blog before?) and i have about 3 fans on me at all times.
And THIS is what I see

There are 4 tipped over tomato plants.

3 tipped over flower pots...one making a humongo mess.

That's "Babe", the doggy. As you can see, that "branch" has landed on his leash. And what is his leash attached to, you ask? His doghouse. His SHELTER. His DOMICILE! Who knows how long he was just chillin in the storm, not being able to get to his doghouse.

Josh saved the doggy and moved the tree when he got home (at 7:30...gotta love those 2 hour commute days...)
and Babe high-tailed it for his home.
Ok so funny part of the post, ready? So I text Josh what I want on my subway sandwich: "Whatever sandwich you get, on my half put lettuce, tom, olive, pickle, mayo/must, salt/pep. "
And I wish I had a picture of my sandwich for you guys, because it was just DOUSED in mayonnaise. and No mustard. Im like "babe why the heck did the subway chick put so much mayo on this??? and where's the mustard?"
He sheepishly replies with..."you didnt ask for mustard...you said mayo is a must. as in lots of it..."
I really cant complain. Last saturday we went to Subway, and I told him I never really liked subway's mustard...I worked there for about 2 years and never liked it. So yea I can see how he would think i wouldnt want mustard. But regular mustard from the store is booooomb. My sandwiches are always dripping with mustard. So good. And Zero calories. Did you know that??
Yeah, go check the little label on the back.

Power still not back on so I call 1-800-CALL-411 (which is the same as calling 411...only its NOT the same. its FREE) and get Rocky Mountain Power's customer service number. Power is not gunna be back on until 10 pm. Hope my food held up in the fridge!!! I thought once I got back on here there would be toooons of status updates on facebook about the power outages, since power was out all the way to Salt Lake. Not one status update about it! Flabbergasted, I am! Facebookers LOVE to complain about the littlest annoyances that occur in their lives.
