Wounds!

(He was a Monster for halloween!)
Kaius is a TANK.
He has a very strong grip. He has nails that grow very fast. Like within 5 days of clipping them he is pinching me and breaking the skin! It makes me cry out sometimes. I'll use it against him someday ;)
But its sooo hard to find time to clip them. I'm like, hmmm..he's sleeping, i can A) Clip his nails B) do the laundry cuz we are out of clean undaroos D) do the dishes, or E) Take a shower since you didn't take one yesterday.
Yeah, you heard me. I don't shower every day. It's just not practical. Judge me or don't I could not care annnnny less.
(why do people say "i could care less" ? it really makes no sense, in the context they are using it in)

Anywee, if you have tips on clipping a monster baby's nails, please leave them in the comments.

I fed Kaius rice cereal tonight for the first time, trying to put him to sleep with more in his tummy so he'll sleep longer and then i can get more sleep and be nice to my husband again once in a while ;)
I'll let you know how it goes (but don't hold your breath)

Kaius LOVES to do what daddy does...

Projects!!

I got this from my friend Maggie's blog. She is publicly de-cluttering and organizing her house, and I got some inspiration! I didn't think shining your sink would make a big difference.

After

Sometimes I think I should be in Marketing. The "after" looks so much better without all the soap and scrubbers, but to tell you the truth, i just put them a few feet to the left out of the picture, then put them right back. Another reason, I dont think that food advertising should EVER show people actually EATING the food.
No one wants to see that.

So, Sara Lee, you need to fire your marketing director, and call me.
But, you will get rejected, because I am a full time mom. I will perhaps freelance for you, I charge $15,000/hr for a consultation.

I finally got around to making Kai's name blocks.

It would have only took me an hour but Kaius decided he didnt want to be independent for even 2 seconds so it took me a whole day just working on it a little here and a little there. I'm pretty stoked with how they turned out. Its really easy for these to look girly with too funky of a font, embellishment, or choice of paper pattern. Maybe I should open an etsy shop? I haven't looked to see if that market is oversaturated...
ok I just checked and I didnt really see any like mine. Something to think about...

And Lastly, I dont know if any other moms out there have experienced the feeling of baby kicks after having the baby, but I feel "kicks" all the time. Its not gas, I know that, but I think its muscle spasms. I had Josh get me a pregnancy test at the dollar store, and I just took it, and..................its negative.
*phew*

Grandma Vi's Secret Christmas Cookie Recipe attempt

Failed.

Ok, not entirely.

They just look a loooot different than Theresa's, my Mother in Law. I dont know why I keep attempting to HALF recipes for baked goods...it always ends up different than its supposed to. But I know if I make the whole thing, I might just eat the whole thing.

Cuz they are the most delicious cookie I have ever tasted (not my version, Theresa's...)
And no, you cannot have the recipe, its too secret. I've vowed never to tell.

Look I'm all artsy and stuff.
And I dont have the right equipment. Still tasty though.

And that is not "frosting" is light and fluffy...sooo yummy.

Come on Brecheisens back me up on how good these are...

Oh and Theresa, I have such an appreciation for these now, the hard work that gets put into them and how fast they go.

The Warm Discussion

Today, we attempted to go to the movies because we have 2 supersavers (free tickets) to Cinemark theaters. I REALLY dont understand why anyone goes to Cinemark..Megaplex is so much better. You can buy your tickets in advance and be confident it wont be sold out, because you can see the seating chart. Also, you dont have to show up early at all because your assigned seat that you chose is sitting there empty.
Anyway. We got tix for tomorrow since it was sold out, which we will have to show up early for to get good seats.

Really anyway, we were driving home and Josh says "Oh, its 35 degrees...it's warm today"
Me: We have this discussion every winter...just because its not freezing, doesn't mean its "warm"
Josh: Its Warm in relative to what its been
Me: Its warmer than what its been , but its not "warm"

My definition of warm is not having to wear a jacket when I go outside!!! What's your definition? I have a hard time saying his opinion of warm isn't wrong hahaha...
changing the subject..
I have never ever noticed so many people trashing on the previous year and stoked for their "new start" of the new year. Maybe I never knew it because Facebook wasn't as popular last New Year and so I didnt have the opportunity to hear it all.
I've seen lots of people say "last few hours of sugar" or junk food altogether... I just think it's weird. Maybe I just think diets are weird...they dont work. If you plan on depriving yourself of something temporarily to get to the weight you want...and then you go back to your normal diet, wont you go back to your regular size?
You have to make a change in your life...and I think waiting for an excuse like January 1st is weak. I think thats why we hear a lot of New Years resolutions fail. Because once you fail, you wait a whole stupid year again until January 1st to try again.
Not talkin about everyone, but, it's common.
And when people say "I'm so glad that 09 is behind me, bring on 2010!" I can pretty much guarantee you that its not gunna be much different hahaha.
Why can't you pick any old day of the year to go "I am going to eat this broccoli instead of this cookie" (not that I don't love cookies)
I just think the resolution thing needs to go.
I love goals.
Happy New year.

We went to the lights at Temple Square for New Years Eve, then Texas Roadhouse, then put the baby to sleep, and cuddled while watching the ball drop.
Which is quite a different New years eve experience than I had last year ...and what I said I would have this year...
If you remember my post from last year, I said it sucked big time. The reason why it sucked, was because I took an early pregnancy test when we got home and it was negative. It was the CHERRY on top!
Then 3 days later I missed my period and took another test...

And now...I have this:
